Its artistic value is incomparable to normal reproduction, which has only very limited possibilities of transmission of that elusive special energy coming from the unforgettable turn a pencil or pen, which is purely for each individual author.
The essence of lithography or lithography is gently smoothed stone, a type of limestone. On its surface by hand or greasy pencil drawing tough image transfers. Tanked up places accept greasy ink, it is the printing space. Places nonprinting moistened with water to the color adopted. Porous stone accepts both grease and water. In the production of printing form thus uses mutual repellence grease and water.
My soft lithography are exceptional precision drawing and the number of colors used in printing-color registration. Each color will gradually overlap, only to ultimately fulfill the artist's idea of the final form of the work.
The fineness of the artwork allows me to work with an unusually large number of color registers and create the perfect result of spatial illusion, which is comparable with techniques such as layered oil paintings. This method works in this unusual art technology for its time consuming, labor intensive and costly.
Therefore, my work differs from most of the work produced by this technique.
Lithography arise in lithographic workshop of Peter Korbelář in Zdiby. This workshop is characterized by exceptional quality and precision in the preparation of drawings on the stone for printing. Peter Korbelar is not afraid to experiment and invent new techniques. Proof of this is still increasing fame of this workshop at home and abroad.

Lithography
Lithography is 200 years old technique, now the most common precursor method printing - offset. It has unlimited possibilities for artistic expression, according to the individual needs of an artist who uses it.
Its advantage is lower cost than the original, because it can print in an average of around 100-150 pieces. At the same time, thanks to its precise technology preserves the true author's manuscript and its characteristic structure, and exactly the color that the author himself personally chosen in collaboration with master printers.
When printing lithography is to direct the creative process with the risk of failure on the one hand, but the absolute creative freedom on the other. Therefore, this procedure is conditional on perfect knowledge of lithography and its technical operation.

Although most drawings Oldrich Jelen created on the basis of a specific literary initiative, his pictures are gently and gracefully odpoutávají from the default text and quietly develop their own stories and worlds that pulsate separate and independent life. Their work is universal, meaning far beyond illustration.
